After canceling this year’s main March event due to Covid-19, the Charleston Wine + Food Festival is planning its return. The 2022 Festival will be held March 2nd through 6th, and the schedule and ticket launch dates were just announced.

The complete schedule of events will be made public on the evening of Sunday, October 17, and tickets will go on sale Thursday, October 21.

The full schedule of programming is still being worked out, but Alyssa Maute Smith, the Festival’s Marketing and Communications Director, says that the main categories of events will be back for the 2022 edition. That means a full slate of signature dinners at local restaurants, beverage workshops, hands-on classes, and culinary excursions along with the main culinary village.

This time around, the Festival has adopted the theme “let’s get back together,” and Smith says the focus will be more on local and regional chefs and culinary talent. Though the type of programming will be similar to previous years, the Festival is planning on covering all food costs for chefs this year and—in acknowledgment of the high supplier costs that restaurants are currently facing—will be increasing across the board the stipends they pay restaurants that host signature dinners.

Stay tuned to the Southeastern Dispatch for more updates on the festival lineup and other details as the ticket launch approaches.
