The reshuffling of Upper King Street continues. The Brooklyn-based small batch ice cream shop OddFellows opened its doors today at 550 King in the space next to Felix Cocktails et Cuisine that was formerly occupied by Revelator Coffee.

The store offers a rotating menu of 30 flavors, including several vegan options, and is celebrating its grand opening with a limited-time sundae made in collaboration with Callie’s Hot Little Biscuit. A portion of the opening day proceeds will be donated to the non-profit We Are Family, which provides affirming spaces and empowerment for LGBTQI+ and ally youth in the Lowcountry.

OddFellows prides itself on its blend of quirky and classic ice cream flavors, with savory/sweet combinations like Miso Cherry and Chorizo Caramel Swirl. The original location was opened in June 2013 in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, by co-owners Mohan and Holiday Kumar and Sam Mason, formerly the pastry chef at Manhattan’s acclaimed WD~50. It now has four locations in New York and one each in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, and Seoul, South Korea. The Charleston shop is the first down South, but the company says it has plans to open more “across the Southern United States.”

OddFellows is offering $1 scoops for the first 100 customers in line today, but you’re likely to be a tad late for that, since the shop officially opened its doors at noon.
